MOLD TOXICITY

Mold-Literate Certified Badge.jpeg

Do you suffer from unexplained symptoms of fatigue, muscle and joint pain, brain fog, difficulty concentrating, low mood, or skin rashes, and have been told by your doctor that you are fine and there is nothing wrong with you?  Sadly, these are stories I hear all of the time from my patients.  But the good news is, there is a reason you are having these symptoms, and the root cause of these symptoms can be found and treated.  While many of these symptoms can be caused by a variety of different things and these symptoms do not conclusively indicate mold toxicity, if you are experiencing these symptoms mold should be considered as a possible root cause.

Mold is an invasive fungus that weakens the immune system and many other body systems.   A mold toxicity can make it harder for your body to heal from other infections or ailments, and unfortunately can lead to chronic illness in many people.

There are many safe and effective treatments for mold toxicity, but the most important one is AVOIDANCE.  If you are currently living or working in a moldy environment, the best thing you can do for your health is to get out of that environment, which is unfortunately easier said than done. But this is the MOST important aspect of treating a mold toxicity. In naturopathic medicine, we always look for obstacles to cure in regards to health. Exposure to a moldy environment is a huge obstacle to cure. The body cannot start to detoxify and heal from mold if it is still constantly being burdened by further toxicity.  Check out the information below for more information on how to test your house for mold.

  • Inspector should be certified by BBEC (building biology institute), ACAC, IICRC

  • Inspector should use ERMI testing for samples
